Artist statement

“Vague Vagrant Vagina” is a nonbinary artist replicating their body and giving it to a nonbinary model. It’s a virtual transition. A paper prosthesis speaks as a state of mind: it can be changed or hidden, but it's real. The model is always verging on vagina, and here comes the coming-out action. Life is in motion now, and it takes two things to rebuild it: a hammer and written paper. “Normal not man” are the words, the vagina's written counterpart. From black and white to crazy colours, the mind escapes the freeze, and runs free.

Artist Biography

Silvia Marcantoni Taddei (B. 1994) is a European multimedia artist and works with Massimo Sannelli in AnimaeNoctis duo. Their work has been exhibited in Bologna, Shrewsbury, Glasgow, Munich, and has also been published in Australia and the UK.
